Detailed Itinerary for 3 days Gorilla Tracking and Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
On this day, you will be picked by one of our company guides from your hotel OR Airport who will transfer you to Bwindi impenetrable national park, with a stopover at the Equator for some photo shots and an informative talk prior to proceeding to Mbarara for lunch. After lunch continue the drive through the virgin rolling hills of Ankole– Kigezi to the home of Mountain Gorillas Bwindi Forest NP where you will reach in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Broad bill camp for budget accommodation.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking Experience and transfer to lake bunyonyi.
After breakfast, your driver guide will transfer you to an information center from where you will be briefed on the “dos and don’ts” while in the forest. The unique insight and knowledge of the ranger guide are sure to add to your experience and understanding of the habits and behaviors of the Mountain Gorillas. As you head into the forest, it may be silent at the first encounter but as you track, you will realize the jungle sound as you see various forest Flora and fauna. Walk through the dense forest tracks with great anticipation.
All of a sudden you will come across the Uganda Mountain Gorillas peaceful in a family with their silverbacks. You will spend more than 2 hrs. with gorillas taking photography and learning more of their behaviors. later your guide will transfer you to lake bunyonyi on your arrival at the lodge, you can take nature walk. dinner and overnight at Hope of seed hotel. budget accommodation.
Day 3: Visit different islands and transfer back to Kampala.
Have your morning breakfast and take a boat to visit some famous islands like punishment island, this was called so because all young girls who would get pregnant before marriage were taken there and starve them to death. you will enjoy story telling about the same by elders. Another island worthy to visit will be leprosy island, this was called so because the whole island was full of people who had that disease and whoever could get the same disease was transferred there hence the name leprosy island.
This visit to the above islands will take you between 2-3 hrs. and later you will proceed your journey to Kampala, drop off will be at your hotel or airport depending on your program.
